Artist Statement

The idea of this project was to capture industrial sites and how their lines work to create pieces of art. The biggest factor for this project was to introduce the contrast between the sky and human made industrial pieces. While nature is extremely beautiful, observing what humans have made and how they changed the Earth is an interesting subject to photograph. Humans mostly believe that they have changed the Earth for the better; however, most of the time what has been done is more harmful than good. This piece of work projects the stark difference between man-made and natural made. This project is particularly important because of current-time issues such as Coronavirus, which has made many parts of Earth begin their healing processes. The course of documenting how Earth is changing and the difference between architecture and natural things during this time is critical. On another note, the main style used for this project was leading lines to move the eyes throughout the photographs. Many worm's eye view pictures are used to capture the difference between the sky and nature to the architecture. Also, turning down temperature in the photographs in post-production tied them all together to create an ominous feeling within the images. Overall, the obvious angles and symmetry within the photographs allow the viewer to see the dimension within the image and decide what they think is important.
